A new study shows that people who maintain good oral health may have a lower risk of developing dementia later in life.
Researchers at the University of California studied 5500 elderly people over an 18 year period and found that those who reported brushing their teeth less than once a day were up to 65% more likely to develop dementia than those who brushed daily. Researchers are quick to point out that the study is limited.
Neglecting oral hygiene may lead to dementia later in life, but there are many factors to consider.
